In a remote, uninhabited area, there lies a phenomenon called the Shimmer: an inexplicable border beyond which the laws of physics and biology go topsy-turvy. When a squad of soldiers investigating the anomaly is killed, save one, the survivor’s biologist wife Lena volunteers to explore the ever-expanding region and find out what happened. But inside the Shimmer lie untold dangers hitherto unknown by science.
'Annihilation brings together an all-star cast, including Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman as Lena, Oscar Isaac, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Gina Rodriguez, Benedict Wong, and Tessa Thompson. Opposing them: a host of mutant creatures and sci-fi phenomena eager to kill them, and an unexplained phenomenon slowly taking over the planet.
