Charlize Theron re-teams with her Young Adult collaborators Diablo Cody and Jason Reitman.
Theron stars as Marlo, a mother of two -- and soon to be three -- kids. She loves them, and she isn't really sure who she is besides "Mom." And she's also down to the very end of her very last frayed last nerve. Enter Tully (Mackenzie Davis), a young woman hired by Marlo’s brother (Mark Duplass) to help ease her burden of mom duties. Tully and Marlo's working relationship swiftly deepens into a full-blown friendship, one through which Marlo starts to rebuild herself.
Cody and Reitman famously explored a girl's early brush with motherhood in their iconic JUNO. Now, they're telling the story of a full-time Mom. With magnificent performances by Theron and Davis (whom you might recognize from Black Mirror’s "San Junipero"), Tully is as fiercely funny and keenly observed as its earlier sister film. - Alamo Drafthouse
