The Playhouse Cinema is available to rent for events of all types. This includes private screenings, corporate events, promotional screenings, shareholder meetings, staff appreciation days, business functions, film festivals, press screenings, benefits, film clubs, private parties, birthday parties, even film shoots and yes the odd wedding or proposal!
We are unable to facilitate theater rentals on Friday or Saturday evenings.
Theatre rental spots are staffed by at least one manager, to handle technical needs and a box office/snack bar person. More staff are supplied depending on the event
Film rental rates:
In order to show any commercial film, you must pay a rental rate for the film rights. We can facilitate either the booking of a film of your choice, or we can arrange for a screening of a current title we are still playing.
Film rates start at $250.00 per title plus HST.

Weekday Matinee (9:00am - 5:00pm)
Monday - Friday : $150.00/hour
Weekend Matinee Slots
Sat & Sun (9am - 12pm): $150.00/hour
Sat & Sun (1pm - 5pm): $250/hour
Evening Slots (6:00pm - 11:00pm ~ a "slot" is a typical movie run time of 2 hours.)
Sunday - Thursday: $250/hour
Friday & Saturday: NO RENTALS
Cancellation Fee:
We understand that situations arise in which you must cancel your event. It is therefore requested that if you must cancel your event you provide more than 7 days notice. This will enable us to schedule another event in that time slot.
Please be advised that there will be a $100.00 cancellation fee for any event cancellation within 7 days.
