VOC Silent Film Harmonic presents THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC: Feb 23 @ 7PM
The VOC Silent Film Harmonic, under the direction of Ted Harms, was formed in the summer of 2007 with the idea of performing live & improvised music to accompany silent films. The group takes its inspiration from how many silent movies were originally presented - taking themes and using them as the basis for improvisation. The overall goal is for the music to reflect, enhance and support the movie, not to overtake or distract.

Subbed: Feb 21
When an unconfident young woman is cursed with an old body by a spiteful witch, her only chance of breaking the spell lies with a self-indulgent yet insecure young wizard and his companions in his legged, walking castle.
"This is absolutely one of my favourite movies. I watch it anytime I need to get lost in magic and romance, and it never fails to amaze me. I hope you all get a chance to see it." - The Person Who Writes This Newsletter
1979 classic, THE BLACK STALLION, is back on the big screen!

After being shipwrecked with a magnificent horse off the coast of Africa in the 1940s, a boy bonds with the stallion, and trains him to race after their rescue.
"The Black Stallion is a perfect gem. Based on Walter Farley’s 1941 novel, Carroll Ballard’s feature debut is rich in adventure, suspense and mythical elements and marks the director as a major talent.
