We sell advance tickets for all our shows! Just click on a showtime.

On Friday we are thrilled to welcome the co-directors of the new GORDON LIGHTFOOT documentary to the Playhouse for an audience Q&A. If you don't get tickets to opening night, there will be 8 more opportunities to see it during its Hamilton premiere run. Also on Friday night at 9pm, Trevor Cole, the award-winning author of The Whisky King, will introduce THE GODFATHER and speak briefly about the Rocco Perri era of Hamilton mobsters. THE GODFATHER tops a poll of films that most people claim to have watched, but never have. Fess up! We would add, if you have never seen The Godfather on the big screen, then you have never seen it! Also premiering this weekend is THE AFTERMATH, a love triangle period drama starring Keira Knightley. We continue our gardening series (co-presented by RBG) with THE GARDENER, a truly inspiring look at Francis Cabot's English-style garden in Quebec. Fans of Hayao Miyazaki will be pleased to see CASTLE IN THE SKY this week (another film to see on the big screen!) We DECONSTRUCT THE BEATLES on Sunday & Thursday, this time The White Album gets the deep dive. Finally, armchair adventurers will want to check out FAR. A Story of A Journey Around the World.

The offer: Win a pair of passes to GORDON LIGHTFOOT: IF YOU COULD READ MY MIND. Keep scrolling to the very end of this newsletter to find out how! (If the message gets "clipped" at the end, click on the link.)

“Castle in the Sky is an astounding animated feature written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is an imaginative extrapolation of a reference in Jonathan Swift's "Gulliver's Travels" to Laputa, a floating island-city hovering over Balnibarbi. Miyazaki uses that to spin off a modernistic sci-fi fable with a subtle ecological message.

“Mulholland Drive is as brilliant and disquieting as anything Lynch has ever done. It is psychotically lucid, oppressively strange, but with a powerfully erotic and humanly intimate dimension that Lynch never quite achieved elsewhere. It is a fantasia of illusion and identity; a meditation on the mystery of casting in art as in life: the vital importance of finding the right role.

“Joyful in all the best ways. It’s completely and utterly beautiful.” -Alex Billington, First Showing

Many of us have fantasized about it; cutting ourselves off from the hustle and bustle of the big city and escaping to a “simpler” life out in the country. But as much as we’d like to get closer to nature, nature is not always the most welcoming host.
