Temporary closure effective Jan 5. Details and ways to support....

Hello Playhouse Friends,

Effective Jan 5, the Playhouse, along with all other movie theatres in Ontario, will have to close temporarily to help stem the tide of the Covid-19 Omicron variant.

We are disappointed but, hopefully when we are allowed to re-open, we can do so serving drinks and hot-buttered popcorn!

If you have a craving for popcorn, our Popcorn Take-Outs will be revived. Every Friday from 5pm - 8pm. Stay tuned for details!

Our sister cinema, the Princess, has plans to revive their famous Movie Poster auction. Stay tuned! They still have many great posters in the vault, so keep a look out for the auction to get launched in the next week or so.

If you want to show your support now, please consider buying Playhouse "winter" Gift Packs in our Merch Store. For $50, you can get an annual membership and four passes. You can pick them up or we can mail. Your choice!

We hope this shut-down is brief. It's been wonderful to be able to show movies again and be open to the community.

Now is your final chance to see the following wonderful movies that are playing at the Playhouse! Movies are always better on the big screen. Full stop.

We have maintained all along that movie-going is one of the safest activities one can do outside of the home. Cinemas are very controlled environments in large, well-ventilated rooms. There have been no outbreaks connected to cinemas, globally. We have never stopped going to cinemas, because it's just that important to us. Independent cinemas are more than just movies... they're community.

We'll be here when this is all over. We hope you will be, too!

Thanks for the support...
